A shattering cry,
A tear from the eye,
There's no one there,
No one to care.
A girl sits on her own,
Trying not to moan,
As her face starts to frown,
And her world crumbles down.
There's something in her mind,
Or "someone" you'll find,
And her thoughts are weighed,
With the feelings being played.
There was love in the air,
But now there's nothing there,
For he is long gone,
Swept away by a storm.
She wonders what it would have been like,
Is he had stayed just one more night,
But she tells herself to get over him soon,
Else she'll end up hiding within a cocoon.
But in the back of her mind,
Is a different story of kind,
Not a scheme,
Just one little dream.
There was a girl,
Worth more than any pearl,
With one big heart,
Who loved him from the start.
