"I came alone, does that mean I'll be able to go early?" She teased.
He smiled. "It doesn't quite work like that..." He let his voice trail off as he looked at a spot in the sky behind her head. She's pretty, he thought, such a shame who she is.
"I know it doesn't," She smiled slightly. "but a girl can dream, right? After all I do know why you want me, I'm not stupid" She sighed and looked down.
I'm glad she isn't stupid, he thought.
"Anastasia" He whispered, looking at her now. He didn't want this life and he knew she didn't either.
"Markus" She replied in a whisper, looking up into his emerald eyes. He captured her grey eyes and made sure she didn't avert her gaze, although he knew how she hated when he did it and didn't like the way it made her feel.
"Let's go. Get out of here. Just me and you, no one else. Run, build a new life and just be free." He smiled, placing his hands on her cheeks. "Please" He begged. Without saying a thing, Anastasia nodded. It was what she had always wanted anyway, just her and Markus. With their separate worlds behind them, not keeping them apart.
My mother tells me that story all the time, when her and father decided to run away. I don't know why she tells me but her family, the Grazia's, and father's family, the Thia's, have been rivals for millions of years and I'm told it would be a disgrace on the family and that's why they ran away. Sounds like Romeo and Juliet to me but they say that it's "something different" but whatever.
"Kel, what are you still doing in the house?" Mother calls up the stairs. She's so overprotective and I have to be out at a certain time each day = Annoying.
"I am just about to leave, Mother. Give me time!" I call back, rolling my eyes.
"Do not have that tone with me" She complains.
"Honey, leave the kid" Father says from somewhere downstairs, probably his study.
I get up from where I sit at my desk, leave my room and jog down the stairs opposite. Mother stands at the bottom, smiling up at me. My mother is a pretty lady, she's tall and slim, has lovely grey eyes and long black hair. I smile back, kiss her on the cheek then whisper, "Love you, Mum"
I'm running out of our house, my skateboard under my right arm and my solid black German Shepherd by my side, before she can say anything else.
"Come on, Butch" I call, skating down my road. I didn't name my dog, just so you know my brother did because Butch was originally his but I taught Butch everything and he just thought I was his owner so he's mine now. Sadie, our other black German shepherd, is my brother's dog but she isn't as good as Butch. Of course.
I turn left at the end of my road and follow it all the way downtown to the skate park, I go there a lot.
"Kelsy" A voice calls when I get there. Butch runs in the direction of the call and I follow slowly behind.
When I get there I nod, "Luke. Sarah. Kitty. James" I say as a hello. They're all lounging on the grass behind the skating area. "Where's Fang?" I ask. It's not like him to be here late, I'm usually the last one here because I live on the other side of town.
"He's on his way" Sarah smiles, her brown eyes seem to smile too.
"Why are you looking at me funny?" I ask her as the others laugh.
"Kelsy and Fang sitting in the tree. K.I.SS.I.N.G!!!" Kitty screams then bursts into a fit of laughter.
I curse. "He told you guys?" I ask.
"Course." Luke smiles. "He will not shut up about it"
"That's not true" A voice says from behind me. I can't help it, I blush and this makes the others laugh more.
It was one kiss and in this moment I would like to say that we were drunk but we weren't and, I'm not going to lie, I bragged about it but only to Butch!
