In the view of Scruff ...
Everything just happened so quickly. As Nova fell backwards, an arrow stuck in her, Red released another arrow at me. If I hadn't been staring at Nova, looking for any sign of movement from her, then I would've seen it coming. Then I heard a howl and looked sharply towards the sound. That's when the arrow hit me and whoever that wolf was saved my life. Red was aiming for my head so when I moved, it scraped my eye instead.
I cried out in pain. It was excruciating, worse than turning into a wolf.
Red laughed as I failed to keep that eye open. "You can't have her, Scruffyboy" She grinned.
Only one person had called me that and that was my sister but she had gone missing nine years ago.
"She trusted you" I growled. I probably didn't look as menacing as I wanted to with one eye closed and what felt like half a canine.
Red grinned. "Yes, she did trust me. It's a shame she won't anymore."
I growled again. "Why?"
Her smile faded. "Because my real family left me. They left me, Scruffyboy, and they didn't care. Then I met the wolves and they helped me, said I could get revenge. How could I get revenge? They said that the family had taken an unexpected turn and needed the girl so the plan was set. I was to befriend her and lead her to the wolves. Not my fault you got in the way" She replied.
"Your family leaving you isn't her fault. What are you getting from this, Red?" I asked, moving forward slowly.
Red grinned. "I get to become one of them, what I'm supposed to be. No, you're right, this isn't her fault, it's yours"
