Why Does Everything Go So Fast?

My last year of college
I'll be off to Uni soon
That is if I get in
But what happened to high school?
5 years over, just like that
And my first year of college?
That's gone too
I'm even 18 soon
How fast does time go?
It seems scary
Next year it'll all be over
I'll be going into the real world
To do whatever I please
What if I make mistakes?
And I can't amend them?
Could I still go crying to my mum?
Like I did when I was little and sometimes do now?
Can I be childish and careless?
Or do I have to be sensible?
Do I have to act older than I do now?
But time is running out
I'll be at Uni
A student, that will be me,
But I just want time to freeze
