Birds Of A Feather (continued)

Flo gave up trying. Felix bent down beside her shaking his head. "Honestly Flo, I think you need a big boy to help you." they both giggled. He began to pull the stag towards him, tying a rope around its legs then tying it to the back of his horses' saddle. Flo took hold of her horses reins and lead it through the trees, Felix followed behind leading his horse. The trees casted long shadows on the ground. The scraping sound of the stag being dragged by the horse started to irritate Flo and she suggested they take a break when they found a clearing. She was first to lie down on the dewey grass. Felix lay down next to her and they looked up at the sky between the green leaves. The sun shone in their eyes and Flo had to squint to see properly. There were no clouds, just the crystal blue sky. Felix looked at her. He stared at the profile of her face. Flo didn't pay any attention to him as she was too busy looking for clouds but she didn't spot any. Suddenly a small sparrow flew out of the tree that made Flo sit up, Felix's face dropped. The sparrow was being chased by a large, brown hawk. Flo began to crack her knuckles, she reached for her bow and arrow. Felix stretched out his arm in front of her. "What the hell are you doing?" she asked.
"Just... Leave them." his face went emotionless and his eyes staring up at the to birds. The hawk circled the sparrow, its claws outstretched. Its eyes focused on its prey. It zoomed in on the defenceless bird and caught it between its sharp talons. The sparrow gave out its last squawk. Flo flinched grabbing the bow and arrow before Felix could stop her. She aimed at the hawk, it stared down at her. She let go of the arrow and it went flying but missed the hawk. Fortunately it lost its grasp of the sparrow and it flew off chirping happily. The hawk hovered in the air looking down at Flo. Felix could feel a lump in his throat, the bird lunged down at them both. He pushed Flo down, protecting her from the hawks claws. Flo tried to get back up but he held her down. "Felix, let me go!" she screamed.
"Just stay down!" he ordered. Flo shut up. She had never seen Felix be do serious about something. He was always so shy.
