Go to sleep, darling,
Rest your sweet head,
Plants are all withered,
Greenery's dead,
Animals are dying,
Throughout the lands,
Go to sleep, darling,
The world's in your hands,
We have been careless,
Killed all the trees,
Murdered poor creatures,
Killed all the bees,
Left it up to you,
The last generation,
Forgot about animals,
Threats and conservation,
Built lots of buildings,
Drained the seas dry,
But, go to sleep, darling,
Please don't you cry,
It's too far gone,
It's way too late,
With all our mistakes,
We've sealed your fate,
We thought we were clever,
'Masters of all'
But deep into darkness,
Soon we would fall,
Carbon dioxide,
Filled the clean air,
Trapping the sun light,
But it didn't stop there...
Chopped down the trees,
Polluted the lakes,
We're killing you all,
With our mistakes,
Spread strange diseases,
Killing newborns,
The earth was sobbing,
Battered and torn,
Ran out of food,
Famine settled in,
Eating old crops,
And stuff out of tins,
Started new wars,
Made machines and guns,
Thought that we needed to,
Though nobody won,
Living in bunkers,
Under the earth,
The surface all broken,
Not what it's worth,
Want back the good days,
Of green and light,
Sunshine and flowers,
Too far out of sight,
Life's a disaster,
There's no point in trying,
All of the humans,
Are screaming and dying.
Hearts filled with shame,
With what we have done,
Darkness took over,
And blotted out the sun,
We were stupid and reckless,
The world, it is dead,
So, go to sleep, darling,
Rest your sweet head.
