Nightshade Part 20

I pulled away after what seemed like an age, tears streaming. Phillip stroked them away, looking genuinely concerned.
"What is it, Gywn? What did you see? Did you see anything?" He whispered, holding me by the shoulders, looking deep into my glassy eyes. I took a while to compose myself, then took his hand and led him into the forest, away from Isadora. I sat down and spoke quietly. I couldn't let her hear this.
"Eliza's going to kill Morcant."
Blunt and to the point, the best way to give bad news.
Phillip grabbed me, eyes flashing and said frantically,
"When!!!"
Sighing, I stared at him. He stared back in disbelief.
" I don't know. It could have happened already. I can't tell when my visions occur. It could happen three weeks in the future. I have no idea."
I whispered, head in hands, my voice shaking. I stood up and trudged back to camp, leaving him there, alone. Isadora lay sound asleep, her pale skin contrasting her dark hair in the moonlight. I settled down in the tent, letting the gentle rustling of the leaves and the singing of the birds carry me into sleep.

My mind tossed and turned, the wolf inside screaming to be released. I had been asleep for around five hours, but Raven, my shadow wolf, was making it unbearable. It was a full moon. She wanted to run, to be free, alive. I did too. I let her take over, my human body transforming into a sleek package of muscles enveloped in rust-coloured fur. Leaving Isadora alone, I ran into the night.

I had no idea where Phillip was. I didn't care either. He could do what he liked and so could I. A joyous sensation swept through my body as I ran. I was alive. My cells tingled in happiness, my soul dancing in the light. A rustle in the leaves startled me. I was not alone. Some one had followed me. In fear that it may be the shooter, I growled fiercely. My growl was answered with an excited bark. Phillip strode into the clearing, thick fur gleaming, yellow eyes sparkling. I yipped happily and bounded over to greet him. He ran away, a wolfish smile on his face. I thought to myself;
" Oh... So this is how he wants to play it..." Smiling wickedly I chased after him, my heart pumping. We played tag for a while, constantly chasing each other around, me playfully biting Phillip on the scruff of his neck when he caught me. Soon I grew tired, and I lay down, my head resting on Phillip's warm chest. Our breathing fell into sync as we lay there, my heart singing in joy. I loved him. And he loved me too.
