Soft beeping,
Chemical air,
You shouldn't be here,
Life's unfair,
Nurses whisper,
Flowers lie,
Beside your body,
Please don't die...
Gentle eyes,
And greying hair,
How will I cope,
With you not there?
Oxygen tanks,
To keep you alive,
Your life is fading,
You can't survive,
News came so sudden,
Tears fell fast,
Although we knew,
That life won't last,
I didn't want to drop the rose,
Upon your coffin, cold,
I didn't want to say the word,
That still is left untold,
I didn't want to feel the pain,
You left behind your soul,
So I put on a brave face,
To hide the gaping hole,
I didn't cry, but now I do,
Tears stream down my pale face,
For you were my only Taid,
You cannot be replaced,
I miss you dearly,
And always will,
Loved you, Taid,
And love you still.
