11:11 Chapter 13

Bonjour! That means hello in French. I'm so smart! Well, no not really. That the only word I remember from taking French class for 2 days. Ya.. I didn't listen very much. But when am I ever going to go to France? That's right never. Well the past couple of school days were boring, as always. So it's Friday! Yay! That's means the dance is tonight! Yippee! But Josh hasn't asked me yet.. And I'm starting to doubt what Evan said the other day.
I take my shower, get dressed, and do my hair. I go downstairs and eat my breakfast. I pack my lunch and shove it into my bag. I pull on my coat and head out the door. I start walking to school, forgetting to wait for Abby. I walk to school alone. After a couple if minutes Abby comes through the doors.
"Your such a jerk Payton!" She says. "You didn't wait for me!"
"Sorry I forgot." I say not wanting to start an argument.
"It's alright I forgive you." Abby says.
The bell rings an we go to our classes. I have math first hour. I sit in my seat next to Racheal. We talk for a while until the teacher comes into the classroom.
"Alrighty class I know your excited about it being Friday and the dance is tonight, but we need to settle down." Says Mrs. Rock.
The room falls silent and we hand in our homework assignment.
"Ok so today since its Friday we will do a plotting picture." The teacher says.
Thank goodness! These things are so easy I could do them blindfolded! All you have to do is connect a whole bunch of dots then color it in. It's so easy!
She passes it the papers and she tells us to put them in our folder for later.
"Since we didn't get to use them yesterday, we're going to use the iPads today." Mrs. Rock announces.
We spend the rest of the class period using the iPads.
The next few classes go by as they usually do. The bell rings signifying that its time for lunch and recess. Over at the table by the wall I see one of our teachers tying the message papers onto our flowers for Valentines Day. Every year the school has the chance to buy carnations from the local flower shop... And so the students buy them for each other. Also today's the day they're being delivered. I can't wait to see who got me a flower.
I finish my lunch as the bell rings for recess. I throw my wrappers into the trash can and walk to the gym.
Today's activity is dodgeball. Abby pulls me onto the court to play with her. Mr. Pringle blows the whistle and the game starts. Bryce tries plowing Abby over to get the ball she caught. She turns around and punches him right in the gut. Abby and I beak out laughing as he falls to the ground. Someone on the other team throws a ball at him just to add to it. After he regains the little strength he has and waddles over to the line. Josh always comes over to me when I have a ball and tries to steal it, but it doesn't work out very well. Cause it's mine and he tries doing the same thing every time, so I've gotten used to it.
"So are you going to the dance?" I ask him daringly.
"Uh, yeah. I think so." He stutters out.
"Cool, I'm going too." I say.
"Cool. Do you- I mean are you- uh, going with someone?" He asks in gibberish.
"Uh no. Nobody's asked me yet.." I look over at him. "Are you?"
"Uh maybe, it depends.." He catches a ball and throws it at Kayley.
"On what?" I ask.
"On what she says."
The bell rings and we go back to class. We work on our science project during science. In our next class, language arts, we have to do etymologies for our vocabulary words. I work on them until the bell rings. I 'swipe and go' or in other words, I grab my books and go to my Channel One room with Racheal.
"Payton!" She says will running towards my seat. "Tyler just asked me to the dance!"
"Really?" I say, trying to act surprised.
"Yeah!"
"That's great!" I say.
The teacher turns off the lights and turns on the TV. I pull out my homework and Racheal and I work on it together. Mrs. Rock stands in the doorway after Channel One is finished and announces that her class can return to the classroom.
We finished our homework in Channel One so me and Racheal get iPads out of the iPad cart. Mrs. Stone says that the student council members are going around the school delivering the flowers. Jamie comes over and sits by us. And of course Kiely is right on her tail. She goes everywhere with Jamie, an it's really annoying.
Theres a knock on the classroom door. It's the student council members with hue buckets of flowers. They hand one to Mrs. Rock that says 8B. She thanks them and they go to a different classroom. There are 4 flowers for me. Mrs. Rick tells us to put them in our locker and look at them later. I go out to my locker and put them on the top shelf of my locker. The rest of Study Hall goes by quickly. The bell rings and I pack my bag and walk over to Abby's locker with my flowers in my hand.
"So how many flowers did you get?" I ask.
"I got 4 flowers." She replies. "What about you?"
"Same. Who sent you a flower, besides me?"
"Uh let's see.. Racheal, Evan, Bryce, and you. Too bad I have to burn this one." She says while holding the one from Bryce.
"Yeah. I don't even get why he tries to impress when you know that he's a jerk." I say.
"I know right!? Anyway who did you get flowers from?" She says as we walk out the doors of the school.
"Uh, you, Racheal, Kayley, and Josh." I say. Then I turn the last word I've in my head. JOSH!
"Oh my gosh Payton! I told you he was gonna send you one!" She says. "What does it say!? What does it say!?"
I hand my other flowers to Abby. She throws the one from Kayley on the ground. She knew I was gonna do it anyway so I don't mind.
"It says: To Payton, so I are you still going with someone to the dance? ~Josh " I say still shocked.
Josh POV
She has probably read it by now. I wonder what she did. What she's doing and thinking. She's probably with Abby and they're going home to get ready for the dance. She might think I'm a total idiot. Or just the opposite.
I'm walking the long way home so that way I don't run into them. I just can't stop thinking about what she did or what she's thinking, and I can't stop thinking about her. I was probably thinking too much. I was distracted.. Then I saw it. A flash of two headlights then everything went black.
