So it's still Friday and I'm at school right now. I have already turned in all of my late homework an I'm already done with today's homework! I'm sitting in Dear right now watching the clock move towards 11:50. That's when we go to lunch. I'm starving! Well I'm always hungry I guess.
RING!
I almost fall out of my seat because the bell is so loud.
"Bye, see you at Study Hall!" Says Mrs. Rock.
She's one of my favorite teachers.
Ok, I think to myself, 39-41-39.. Is that right? I try it.. Yep! I grab my lunchbox and I walk down the hall to Abby's locker.
"Hi."
She looks over her shoulder.
"Can you hold this for a second?" She asks, she hands me her water bottle.
"Sure."
"I can't get my lunchbox out of my bag!" Abby says as she struggles with her backpack.
"Maybe you should take it out of your bag in the-"
"Hurry up girls!"
I turn around. It's Mrs. Engman. Abby shuts her locker and locks it. We go as fast as we can down the hallway. Mrs. Engman scares me sometimes. We finally get to our table in the lunchroom. I sit in my spot next to Jamie. I look through my lunch to see what my dad packed for me: a PB&J, an apple, a bag of Oreos, a small Gatorade, and a bag of Cheetos. He packed all of my favorite foods. I grab my sandwich.
"Payton, why were you gone for so long?" Asks Jamie.
"Oh, I had pneumonia.." I reply. "Why do ya wanna know?"
"No reason."
Are they hiding something from me? I think. Why would they, did I do something wrong?
RING!
I grab my stuff and throw my trash into the garbage can. We walk to the gym for recess since it snowed. The game today is basketball. I'm not very good but Kiely, Jamie, and I go play Knock-Out.
I'm out the first try. Oh well.. Basketball isn't really my favorite sport. It's to much running and throwing, plus I wouldn't be able to shoot a basket to save my life.
RING!
I hurry, grab my lung, and get out the door before the huge mob tramples over me. I get to my locker and grab my stuff.
Science time! I walk in to the classroom. I'm the first one in here, I usually am. I set down my stuff an grab my notebook. I start doing the bell work. I hate science bell work, we always have to look up words and stuff.
Science goes by pretty fast since we did another lab experiment.
RING!
That time I did fall out of my seat. Josh laughed at me, it was really embarrassing! I grab my stuff and go to my next class.
Language Arts with Mrs. Engman! Yay! No, not really. We have to take a vocabulary test. I'm the second one finished cause they're really easy. Next she hands out her next vocabulary sheet for next week. I look it over quick and grab my book. I read for the rest of the class.
After the bell rings, I head to Channel 1. It's kind of like a news station for middle schoolers. I just use the time to do my homework, not that I had any.
Mrs. Rock walks into the room.
"My class can return to the room."
I grab my stuff and walk down the hall to our homeroom.
"Okay," says Mrs. Rock. "Today if the class can stay quiet until 2:40, you may talk for the rest if the time."
That made the classroom so quiet you could probably her a pin drop, even though there were a few whispers here and there we still got to talk for the rest of the class period.
I move over to the table where Jamie and Rebecca are sitting.
"Hello." I say.
"Hi Payton!" Racheal says. "How is your day?"
"Good."
She always asks people that. I guess she likes making new friends. We talk the rest of the time about stuff like volleyball, homework. Random girl stuff.
RING!
Schools over so I head out to my locker and grab my stuff.
"Come on Abby."
"Just a second." She says as she tries shoving her binder into her locker.
"I think you need a smaller binder." I say.
"Or a bigger locker." She replies.
After almost breaking her locker and binder, she finally pulls on her coat. We head out the front doors and start aalking home.
"So, what do ya wanna talk about..?" Abby asks.
"I don't know," I say. "Do you think your parents will let you come over this weekend?"
"I don't know, I have dumb religion." She says with a frown.
We always hang out over the weekends, since we live across the street from each other.
"Oh, well I kind of have to know by tonight so you'll have to text me when you get home."
"Ok, I will." Abby replies.
We finally reach our houses.
"Bye Payton!"
"See ya tomorrow?" I ask.
"Oh yeah! Party!" Abby replies.
I walk up my porch and go inside. I walk into the kitchen. There's a note on the counter. I'd recognize the handwriting anywhere, it was my dads.
"Payton,
Went to the Pizzeria to pick up pizza for supper, be home soon.
Dad"
I can already taste the homemade Italian pizza from the Pizzeria across town. The last time we got pizza from there was the day of my parents anniversary. I can't wait I hear what good news my dad is hiding from me now.
