Chapter 17
Josh's POV
I love her. I LOVE her! She's the most amazing girl I've ever met. And she's pretty and nice and so funny! I just can't stop thinking about her. She ran off to get the doctor this morning. The doctor came in to confirm that I was back to normal so now I'm sitting in my living room watching The Little Mermaid.
Payton's POV
I can't believe it worked.. I mean seriously? A single Disney movie jogged Josh's memory! I thought like, his baby pictures would've done the trick but a Disney movie? It is crazy but makes so much sense.. That night with Josh.. It was a night I'll probably will never forget. I was lost in my mind when I heard a voice coming from the outside world.
"Payton?" My dad asked.
"Yeah Dad?" I replied, pushing my thoughts away.
"I just wanted to ask and make sure that you were going to go to Josh's birthday party this weekend, and with all of the crazy things happening lately you probably forgot.. So are you going to go?" He asked.
"Yeah, Abby's going so might as well." I say.
My dad was right. I did forget about the upcoming party. And I'm sure Josh did to. (That was a joke, ya get.. Cause he had amnesia.. Haha.)
It's spring break so I haven't had school. I clung onto the couch and pull back the curtains blocking the view outside the window. I look outside. The sun is high in the sky and is shining down brightly, our tulips are starting to bloom, and I can hear robins chirping from the tree in our front yard. I walk to my room and pull my favorite Cannon camera out of my desk drawer. I guess photography is another one of my many hobbies. I sit down at my vanity and quickly fishtail braid my long brown hair. I go over to my closet and I take my rainbow raincoat off of its hanger. I grab my matching rain boots out of the downstairs shoe closet and I head outside. The grass is still sparkling from the morning rain. I stuff my travel size umbrella into my pocket and loop my camera string over my neck. I skip across my lawn and down the street towards the towns nature reserve. Tyler comes running over the hill in front of me and he nearly runs me over.
"Hey Payton." He says cheerfully, sweat running down his face.
"Hi, I didn't think you would still be running.. " I say glad that I have someone to talk to.
"Oh I thought since it was nice out I might as well keep going, so what brings you to the preserve?" He asks.
I hold my camera in my hands and I pretend to take a picture.
"What do you think?" I ask.
He gives out a light chuckle.
"Oh yeah. I forgot you were into all that picture stuff."
He pulls a ragged towel out of his Nike backpack along with a water bottle. He dabs the sweat off of his forehead and takes a glue of water.
"It's not picture stuff, it's called photography." I say.
"Uh huh, call it what you want." He says still smiling. "Can I join you?"
"No." I say.
"Fine then!" He says and he walks off angrily.
"I was kidding Tyler."
"Good." He walks back up the hill.
We spend over an hour in the preserve. Taking pictures and fooling around. Tyler is a great friend. But Josh is different. He's my best friend and nobody can top him.. Except Abby.
