A sense of finality fills the air,
Nothing to see yet all I can do is stare.
Rocking back and forth on a worn out seat,
Electric fire blazing but I can't feel the heat
A cat on my lap, I wish I could remember his name,
It's on the tip of my tongue.. what was I saying again?
I'm waiting for daddy to come and take me away,
I've been here a while but I know he will come some day.
I'm sorry, I don't know why I said that. I know it's not true,
Sometimes I can't stop that voice coming through.
I think I'll make toast and nice cup of tea,
Oh Jenkins, how did you get up here upon my knee?
