The rain has stopped now. The old wooden boards on the harbor are soaking wet and people are beginning to go outside. Children in Wellington boots and adults holding umbrellas in case the heavens open up again. I looked at my wristwatch and saw the battery had stopped. 00:04. 4 minutes past. I looked into the clouds and thought back to my 4 minutes.
She stated at me and waited for me to talk. "c'mon, why'd you do this?!" she asked. I replied with "she needed to know". Cause here's what you missed, my biggest mistake. Another girl had been being called names and was seriously upset about it. She started crying next to me whilst I was walking along the beach. "who did this?" she asked. I couldn't bear it. I told her the names, Charlotte, Emily, Harriet. Her former friends. She said "thanks, I'll not say you told me, I know you don't want an argument". But this was just a lie coming from a witch. She told them. They fell out with me. The spread the rumour that I said that Katie has said things too. I would never tell anything Katie said. I love her. But now she is stood there, staring at me. I tried to say that I didn't, and it's just a lie but my mouth didn't work. She said "Alex, this is going to be the last conversation we will ever have, any last things to say?". I took a plunge. "you know how I feel". "what are you on about?"," you, your the most beautiful thing ive set my eyes on, you pretty much complete my day, you, make life somewhat, better when you're around, I love you, more than anyone else. I'd give up anything just to be with you". I wondered what her sister just on the stairs was thinking. I saw Katie's reaction. Not good. "you're lying, I'm ugly, why don't you go for someone like Jessie, she's much prettier" I simply said "she's not in my eyes". And that took me four minutes. "Alex, I think you should go..." I opened the door and left my last chance with Katie Windsor...
