In My World

She sat in a world of her own singing to herself on a little hill over looking her little village. Cars hummed and horns honked as she stared at her little busy port village. She watched the blue haze of the light sky settle over the village as villagers hurried from one place to another. The sun shined onto freshly washed cars and she watched the light reflect off the car frame lighting up the surrounding area. People squinted as they got caught in the gaze of the reflection. A loud horn announced the arrival of a new boat heading in to pick up supplies. Excited female chit chatters watched on as foreign men stepped off the boat winking at the surrounding groups of girls watching on. Giggling they blushed winking back clutching each others arms tightly.
The boat now loaded meant the foreign men head off leaving behind a group of disappointed girls dejectedly turning away keeping hope that the next batch of foreign men will notice them enough to whisk them off their feet.
Shaking her head at their fantasies she got up off the hill dusting herself off of dirt before turning to head off down the hill her little moment of clarity and peace over for now until another day.
She joins the hustle and bustle disappearing into the crowds of village folk setting up for market day, heading off to spend some time with her family.
