Along time ago in a land called Dubper a young shoe polisher lived on the cobbled, polished street of North Handlington Lane. Yes it was a lane... pardon me, it was not a street! Well anyway this young shoe polisher was called Bolton Biug and we start our story with a heated discussion between Bolton and his father, Horace.
A flurry of snow spiralled around them before delicatly landing on Bolton's face; each flake dying and dribbling down to the tip of his nose which was peaked like a mountain, red and blotchy. His dark hair fell across one eye and a jet of cold air burst from his mouth to flick the untamed tangles back onto his head. His father was flinging various insults and spit at son's face until he abruptly stopped and sniffed the air. Horace turned on his heals and Bolton half expected steam to erupt from his ears but instead his father fled away and left Bolton with a quizical expression. Bolton let his feet lead him down the street and soon he smelt something too. It stang and scratched at his nose as if it was asking for attention. His father was nowhere to be seen which was strange as the road just faded out after the bakers... It had no purpose so it was never continued. The gravel simply became grass and stretched over the hills and into forever. And when a road is a dead end it often... well it often ends doesn't it? Well no, not really as this particular 'dead end', he realised, had a connecting cobbled footpath veering off to the left. A semicircle shall we say that lead you back onto North Handlington Lane. It was dark and cramped in the lane so Bolton whipped his hat on and fumbled
in his pockets for his gloves but as he searched the lane spiralled and so he walked into the wall so dramatically he thought it funny if he continued, so went for the full effect and fell backwards adjusting a look of shock upon his face. He found it rather hilarious and was about to laugh at his own youth and oddness when he remembered why he was even in this shady, narrow alley.
Well done if you bothered getting to the end..!!
