Apocalypse 13

Her eyes met his and in them she saw no trace of Zayden left. She tried to reach up behind her to pull herself up onto the couch where the duffle bags with the weapons and ammo were but she couldn't. She was frozen with fear. He took a step towards her and she could see that he had bits of flesh stuck in his teeth and he was covered in blood. What he had been kneeling in front of was her mother. She lay on the floor staring up at the ceiling. Her eyes were dull and lifeless. It looked like her insides had been pulled out. Zayden got up and took a step towards her. She tried to pull herself to the couch but it was no use. Zayden grabbed her by the knee. She cried out in pain and feel on her face. "Zayden, don't do it! I know somewhere you're still there," she screamed at him but he didn't listen. Right as he was about to bite her she woke up. She looked over to find Zayden sound asleep in his sleeping bag and she could hear her mother's soft snoring indicating that she was still alive and well too. Still shaking, she got up and walked over to the couch and sat there so if anything tried to break in and harm anyone, she had a weapon with in her reach. Outside there was a clash of thunder as it started to rain. She could hear the sound of those things scratching at the outside of the house trying to get in to we're they were. Her whole body shook at the thought of one of them getting in. She rested her head against the arm of the couch and closed her eyes. She didn't mean to fall asleep but she did.
