For once
Everything went as planned.
I had you, you had me.
My hand was in your hand.
But like everything else
You disappeared far to soon,
Tonight my only company
Is the moon.
And the stars
Whisper to me your name,
Like everything else I've lost,
In this silly game
That we call life.
Even as I walk
Through the dark
To myself I talk.
I end up yelling at my self,
Thinking of what I could've done.
My own words pierce my skin,
Like a loaded gun.
As tired as I am
I can't close my eyes
In fear others will be taken,
Without goodbyes.
