Ian hopped out of his truck and gave us a rushed grin. "what's up you guys?" he asked. Adam was silent. "did you hear about the fire?" I asked. "what fire?" Ian said very curiously. "can we come inside?" I asked. Ian got a scared look, he never let us in his house, I heard a rumor his parents were alcoholics and their house was scattered with empty bottles. "I actually have somewhere to be, I'm running late." he said quickly, then he added with a smile "a date" he fumbled to get his keys out of his pockets and went to unlock the door. Adam swung his hand up and slapped the keys out of Ian's hand. "Adam!" I said, he looked ghost white, was he ok? Ian gave him a glare that looked like he was gonna rip his head off, then he just picked the keys up, walked inside and slammed the door. "what was that?" I asked Adam. I was really mad. That was so rude! "it was Ian." he whispered. "what?" I was utterly confused. "it was Ian I saw in the window, he started the fire, he killed April. This is all his fault!" he was almost screaming. I looked at him, genuinely concerned. He started walking. I followed him. "are you sure?" I asked. "positive." he said. I felt sick that one of my best friends could do something like that. "I gotta lie down, I'm going to my my house" Adam said, we walked until our paths parted. No hug, no kiss, not even a goodbye. We just kept walking. When I got to my house my older brother, Hunter, was playing the trombone. "mail for you" he said. I was confused. The mail already came today, that's when I got the letter. The letter! Was there another? He handed me an envelope. It had my name on it like the last time. I ran up to my room to open it.
