The Burned Chapter 4

BRRRIING BRRRIING!! Shrieked my alarm clock. I hated the sound but if motivated me more to get up. I ran down the hallway to the bathroom at the end. After my shower I picked out an outfit and ran a brush through my wavy brown hair. My dresser opened with a creak. I picked out my favorite pair of dark skinny jeans and a deep, dark purple tee shirt, it complimented my green eyes. I grabbed my backpack and walked out the door, my best friend Alyssa was outside waiting for me. "cute outfit" she said. "thanks! Nice fedora" I replied. Alyssa is really tall and has shoulder length, wavy blond hair. She has blue eyes, freckles, and loves fedoras. We started walking. I wanted to mention what happened last night but I got a little scared.. Was it in the news? Was anyone hurt? I didn't see anyone in the church when I was there. "did ya hear there was a fire last night?" Alyssa asked, interrupting my thoughts. "no" I lied. "what happened?" we were a few blocks away from the school. "well there were some candles lit at the old church about a mile from your house and one fell and the entire church went up in flames! By the time the fire fighters got there it was half collapsed." I started getting scared, was it that bad? "was anybody hurt?" I asked nervously.
