I ran out back and saw Adam and Ian throwing water balloons at Alyssa. Ian is Adam's best friend and a close guy friend of mine. I ran and grabbed the hose and started spraying the guys. Alyssa ran behind me and started laughing her head off. Eventually I stopped and the guys were soaked, head to toe. "they ambushed me!" Alyssa exclaimed. "yeah right! You threw the first balloon!" Ian laughed. "We're doing a campfire, wanna join us?" Alyssa invited.
several campfirey hours later
Alyssa was asleep on Adams lap and Adam was asleep too with a coke in his hand, snoring softly. Ian was staring at a stick he was poking the fire with. I looked at my watch and it read 12:15. Crap! I only had 15 minutes to go to the very edge of town! Without thinking I started running down the block as fast as I could. Suddenly I heard Ian calling my name. "April! What's wrong?" he yelled. Soon enough he was right behind me. "I lost track of time!" I said. I was so scared, what happened if I wasn't there? Whoever was doing this was sick and demented. Ian was staring at me, "do you have some place to be?" he asked slowly and calmly, trying to calm me down. I nodded, I was so panicked I couldn't even talk. "here I'll drive you." he said, still calm. I just nodded again like an idiot and started walking with him. I hadn't realized how far I'd ran, we had walked a few blocks before we got to Alyssa's house. He got his keys and started his truck. I was 14 and the youngest in my group of friends, I started school early so everyone was 15 but Ian failed a grade and was 16. I jumped in the passenger seat, the truck was so high up. "so where to, April?" he asked. I stared into space a few seconds and said "7-11?" I couldn't just say Steven's Auto Parts because when it burned down he'd suspect me. The 7-11 was only a block away so I'd walk. He started driving. "jeez you panicked that much for 7-11?" he exclaimed. I nodded sheepishly. "somebody likes tequitos." he joked. I giggled a little. We got there at 12:28. Perfect timing. "thanks so much!" I exclaimed. He grinned and drove away. I sprinted to the old auto parts place and the front door was locked. I raced around the building and found a back door that was unlocked. I ran through it and found myself in a cobweb covered garage. I looked at my watch, 12:30 on the dot. I stepped in something sticky. I checked my pockets for any source of light. I found my phone and turned it on, it lit enough for me to see the liquid. Gasoline. I turned around and saw the door was still open, I'd escape when the fire started. The gasoline spelled something again. It read "wrong choice, April."
