Attic

I went in the attic today
And this is what I found:

An acoustic guitar
'I used to play'
'I remember the chords'
Only dust
hums the strings.

A painting
by my Grandmother
'Have you put it up yet?'
'....yes. In the guest room'
The painted man
Is left drinking in
The dark.

Recordings of Shakespeare
On LP
'A family heirloom'
'I love Shakespeare'
The bard remains silent
Unheard
The actors wait their cue.

In the attic dark
When the hatch door closes,
Everything stands
And waits
In silent attention
Until a gasp of breath
A whisper of hope
Cuts through
With the light
From the open
Hatch door.

Time

The suffocating blows. And torrid affairs. Grace my face. Once more. The sirens of time. Forever now lost. In the sweet whisper. Of the has beens. I tremble now. And blink then. The time was there.

#4. Boxes

Sidenote: If it wasn't in the list, I'd name this one "Bits of Me". Boxes, boxes everywhere. Holding all my old clothes. Of which I'm too big to wear. Forever and on. Boxes, boxes everywhere.

I want moments I don't want to forget. I want memories I want to keep. I don't care if I am awake or asleep. I do want them with me. In my heart I want them to be. Cause they are so good to remember.

First Love

First love or first lust It matters not, She is still resigned to imagery not forgot. To feast upon and linger when your loins are old. To fumble in the lonely night to chase away the cold.

A Memory

A fraction of a moment. A limbo between dreams and reality. A tiny elation or cause, frozen in time. A beautiful portrait of the past. A souvenir kept in your minds deepest guarded vault.

Enjoyed this. Very atmospheric with a elements of sadness & discovery of times gone by 😌

Really enjoyed this-very atmospheric. I know what's in my attic, but exploring my grandmothers after she passed away, felt a little like this....full of times gone by, each piece telling their own story 😌

Nice. Very simple yet full of meaning. Evokes feeling.👍
