An abandoned forest, so quiet and still,
The birds that live there, calling so shrill,
A secret oasis, hidden from sight,
In the darker times, put out the light,
For a lantern is bright, but the fireflies are brighter,
No need for candles, matches or lighters,
They dance across the water like a million stars,
Each so much more beautiful than cities or cars,
When you are lost, they will find you,
When you're scared, they're behind you,
The fire may keep burning, through the dead of night,
If you wish to see them, kill the man made light,
The wonder of the nighttime, lighting the way,
Save the forest, and let the nature stay.
