I woke up on our living room couch. Everything that happened was blurry. I waited a second and then rubbed my eyes. Everything slowly came back to me. I felt tears lunge into my eyes and my second crying fest started. Beside me was my Mom and Noah and Alyssa. In Alyssa's arms were Emily. Payton and Scott were no where to be found and Paige was probably in her room. The little kid's were most likely in their play room or at grandma's house. I sat up slowly and carefully. My eyes meet my Mom's anxious, worried eyes.
"What happened ?! We came home and found you on the doorstep asleep. Why were you on the doorstep and why did you fall asleep?!" I could tell she was really really worried. Alyssa and Noah stayed quiet.
"Dad is .. dead." I chocked on the last word as I look away in the other direction. I heard my mom's pained scream. Noah was looking at me in horror. The baby even started crying. I looked at Alyssa, she was trying to comfort the baby and get Noah's attention. My Mom was sobbing now. She was a mess. I wiped away my tears. Everything was going to be ok. I knew it. I walked up to my room in silence. I didn't want to talk to anyone now. I climbed up on my bed and stared at the floor. Nothing felt right anymore. I knew Dad would want us to be happy and that is what I am going to be, happy.

I kissed Alyssa on the cheek and smiled at her. Everything was going to be ok. I held my little niece into my chest and prayed that she would grow up normal. Our family isn't anywhere near normal. At all. I don't really know what I was thinking when I decided to be so mature with my life. I have no fun, but maybe I like it that way. I don't know. I have so much life a head of me with Alyssa and our children in the future.
"We should do something tonight, something fun." I said as I looked at Alyssa. She smiled.
"About time we do something fun."
"Go home, get changed and I'll pick you at 6 tonight."
"Of course, babe. I'll see you later tonight." She leaned in and kissed me on the lips before she walked off, leaving me mesmerized by her charm.
I got up and walked down stairs and gave my little niece back to her mother.
"Did she cry? Is she ok? How was she?" Payton asks frantically.
"She was a perfect little angel. She was almost too quiet." I smiled at her.

I walked back up my room. I took a quick 15 minute shower and dressed in a casual pair of jeans, a pair of dressy shoes and a button up. I tossed my hair to dry it and then quickly straightened it. By the time I was done it was 5:45 and I decided to leave to go and pick her up.
