Olympic Relay

An old one of mine for @CuriousCat 's #OpussRelay !!

Last night the Olympic flame
Touched down in old Belfast
I wonder if all of this hype
Will ever actually last?
Because we turned up at old Carnlough
To see the torch go by,
Huddle in ten blankets
Like a homeless guy
(I was actually mistaken once,
I'm afraid, for a man.
But that's a story for another time
I'll tell it if I can).
Anyways, we turn up
Huddled up 'gainst damp and cold.
The Olympic Torch is coming!
It's on it's way so I'm told.
Push up against the barriers,
Get the camera quick!
Bit of an anticlimax,
Just some guy with a flame on a stick.
So we left, cold, wet, deflated,
And really slightly miffed.
That's what we all waited for?
Really? That was sh.... I mean shocking.
