The Peace Of Mind

The Peace of Mind
The small, quiet hush of the wind blew roughly against the tall redwoods. The sound was quite elegant to the ears; yet chilling to the core of the human body. The sun was vaguely visible, yet it lit the forest with such complacency that the trees glowed with a perfected touch of peace. The harsh, damp ground reflected the sun's rays onto the trees, displaying a dark silhouettic beam, while still creating a perfectly dim environment. All was quiet and still. Not a single movement; not even the squirrels and critters that may have dwelt within the forest. Nothing but the sweet sound of God's handiwork. Although, despite this beautiful setting, there is, a disturbance among it. And it approaches.
A quickened figure is running through the forest. Hes running from, what, his life? No not that. From what? An enemy? No not that. He's not running from any of those things. He is not in danger and is not in hatred of his life. Why, he is running from his own mind. The very organ that controls his existence. Except, his mind is threatening to kill him; threatening to kill him if he - what,if he what? - if he doesn't kill himself first. His mind is invading his own living conscience that he has no choice but to run; to escape from the reality in which we live in. So he runs.
He ran for hours, yet the forest never ended. And the time never faded. It just continued and continued for on and on. But, look. He stopped. The figure has stopped. And now, someone approaches him. A peaceful glowing figure. His presence is almost, heart-stopping; and his glow is blinding to the eye. He is somewhat of a, redeemer; a savior. He approaches the fearful man.
"Stay back!" the fearful man proclaims.
"I do not wish to hurt you; but to help you." the peace replied. "You dont mean what you wish to accomplish; it will only cause heartache and strife to the ones around you."
"Shut up you fool! You know nothing of me!"
"Oh? But I do...I do...and Ive come to help you break out. I've come to change you. But you must first let go of your fear, your sadness, your frustration, your selfishness and just let it go. You don't want to do this."
The figure stared blanklessly at the peace. He felt calm and relieved; like a burden had been lifted. And with that, he took the peace's hand and woke up.
