It's a bit of a filler <3

•Chapter 23 - Blame Nolan•

Ammi didn't want to go to school the next day, and I understood that, but I didn't want to go without her. I felt like I couldn't leave her alone with her thoughts. What if she rethinks what I've done, and suddenly gets a feeling of deep hatred towards me? I can't let that happen. I also can't miss another Science Exam, Lord Death told me I would be suspended if I skipped another one.
So the only option left was to convince her to go. Tougher than I thought.
"Ammi come on, please?" I begged for the fifth time that morning. I hated begging. It made me feel weak and pathetic. Why couldn't she just do what I asked?
"No, Kai. I don't want to go" she said firmly, still wrapped up in her pyjamas and duvet. She snuggled back down into the covers, shutting me out from her cosy, warm little paradise.
"You have to" I told her, walking up to the side of her bed with a sigh. She was just a lump underneath the duvet, snuggled up in the warmth.
"No, I don't" she fought me again, not even taking her head out from underneath the blankets. Ugh.
I didn't know what else to say to get her to go with me. I checked the clock on the wall. She was too late to get ready anyway.
"Why don't you skip today?" She suggested, sitting up to reveal herself from the mass of duvets and blankets.
"Come lie in with me!" She giggled flirtatiously.
Oh no. I could not be tempted by this. No. I can't be suspended, not again.
"I-I can't" I stuttered, my voice shaky and unsure. I had to resist her incredibly tempting offer. Funnily enough, it got more and more tempting.
She crawled out of the blankets, across the bed, and got up on her knees in front of me, wrapping her arms around my neck, batting her long black eyelashes. I'm surprised she didn't wrap her entire body around me to get me convinced. All she had to do was smile and widen those emerald green eyes, pout those moist, pale pink lips.
"Please" she mumbled through the pouty face pose.
I sighed.
"I can't" I groaned, placing my hands on her hips and smoothing my thumbs underneath her strap tee. I couldn't stress how important it was I went to school today. Wait.. Why did I have to go again? I was lost with the feeling of Ammi's warm body against mine. Oh yeah, exam, suspension.
"Yeah you can. Just call the school and tell them you're looking after me today" she batted her eyelashes again, her lips slightly parted, and so incredibly kissable.
"Please?" She dragged out the word in a cute yet sexy tone, leaning in so her lips brushed mine as she spoke.
"I don't.. I don't know.." I muttered, losing my train of thought as Ammi began to peck my lips gently in between words.
"I guess.. I guess I could... Just" I began again, but didn't finish.
Oh to hell with it. Suspension isn't that bad.
I let her place her warm, wet lips over my mouth, kissing me passionately so that I wouldn't be tempted to change my mind and do the right thing. I wasn't known for doing the right thing - ever.
I ran my hands down her back, chuckling into the kiss as Ammi enjoyed it as much as I did. She pulled back suddenly, and I thought maybe something was wrong, but a smile broke out on her face.
"So you're staying right?" She asked, eyebrows raised in expectation. I just laughed at her.
"Yeah, I'm staying".

The sound of the doorbell made Ammi and I jump as Nolan ran out of the room and down the hall, barking his little head off.
"Jesus Christ Nolan!" Ammi cursed as the doorbell rang again, our visitor clearly an impatient one. Ammi groaned and snuggled back into my side, telling me to leave it, and whoever it was would go away.
"Blame Nolan" I sighed, abandoning Ammi in the bed as I walked down the hallway in my baggy sweats and no shirt. The outline of a tall black shape was unfamiliar to my half-unconscious mind, my hand reaching towards the door handle with instinct.
I opened the door, and immediately wished I hadn't. Lord Death floated on the step, white gloved hands folded across his chest in impatience, matching mask frowning down at me.
"Ah shit".
I was caught. I hadn't rung the school, and I was ditching another exam.
Ammi appeared behind me slowly. "Who is it?" She yawned, the scruffy terrier dog content being cuddled to her chest. Her eyes widened when she reached the door.
"Hello Kai-San" he fake smiled.
"I'm here to discuss your suspension".
