The End Of The Rainbow

A boy was walking to school.
Had his rucksack on, no fool.
Took the regular route, through the old path.
On his way he saw something in the sky,
Rainbow so big and bright, it could make grown man cry.

The rainbow was close,
Within fifty yards.
The little boy ran, he was going to find the gold!
As he drew closer the rainbow did not fold.
It stood majestic and wondrous.

Until, it was right in front of him.
Filled with wonder, the little boy stood.
Staring at the end of the rainbow,
As hard as he could.

The end of the majestic rainbow, resided within a patch of scrub and trees.
The little boy walked slowly in fear of scaring the wonderful rainbow away.

Suddenly he stood in the scrub, bathed in purple light from heaven above.
The little boy looked around feverishly for the pot of golden coins.
For the boy knew that a rainbow lasts only as long as the rain,
But the boy found only and old bucket full of rain.
There was no anger in his heart,
For the boy had recieved something far greater.

He had bathed in light so beautiful,
There was none like this, this godly.
The little boy went on to school that day.
Told the teacher, his classmates about it.
No one in there would believe it.

The little boy grew up to be a fine man.
But he always held the majestic rainbow.
He held on to his blessing, never forgot though.
Held it deep in his heart, to never let it go.
