I have two really special teddies. One is a lion called Lucky, the other is a woollen cat called Tessa.
Lucky was my prize from when I win the Tombola in Bridlington. I was out with my grandad Ken, my mum's dad, who sadly died of pneumonia a few years ago, when he bought me a try. Lucky the Lion is now my way of remembering my grandad.
Tessa is my little woollen cat, hand knitted by my grandma Eileen, on my dad's side of the family. It's one of few keepsakes I have to remember my grandma by, the others being some earrings, and a blanket she knitted my sister. Unfortunately, she died of cancer about a year before my grandad.
If they feature in my poems then you now know the story behind both.
