Fire Bringer (Part 2 Chapter 5)

Chapter 5
Out Of Character

Emmet yawned happily, looking a lot like a cat at that moment and Logan found himself searching the bleachers for Alessandra's uniquely blonde hair.
"Right... What's got you looking so happy?" He finally asked.
Emmet just smiled again, "You know that Tiwa girl?"
Of course he did, she was all Emmet talked about anymore; even more than Alessandra now that he thought about it. "...Yeah? What about her."
"We're meeting up after the game." Logan blinked at his friend, thrown by the out of character sappyness with which he said it.
"What about 'Sandra?" Emmet waved him off lazily- which just raised more flags, whatever else could be said about him lazy was not one of them.
"It's not a 'date' or anything. She said something about talking to us."
"Wait us? When was I brought into this!?" By this time his attention was directed solely at Emmet, forgoing the baseball game completely despite it being his favorite sport.
Emmet frowned, his eyes looking suspiciously glazed over and seemed to think about his answer- which just prompted Logan to search the crowd for Ben because Emmet would not be acting so... Laid back and carefree without some sort of drug in his system.
"Whatever, just come with me. She's totally got the hots for one of us. She wouldn't call us out so much otherwise."
"Dude, did you eat a cookie Ben gave you or something?" Logan asked seriously, still studiously scanning the crowd for a sign of the stoner's curly hair so he could give him a piece of his mind.
Emmet glared, but Logan didn't even glance at him. "I'm not high fucker, I'm happy. That's not a crime or anything- or do I need to ask you permission to feel anything."
Logan did glance at him after the venomous response. "... Yeah, okay you're coming with me." with that he shot his arm out and snagged Emmet's jacket, pulling him up.
He didn't bother to apologize to the few people they bumped into, too intent on getting his friend away from the prying ears of teachers so he could properly get on his case.
"Logan!" Again Logan shot him a glance, because Emmet doesn't(1) whine. "The game's not even over yet."
"You were staring at your lap for the first quarter and sighing sappily until I dragged you out. Trust me, you weren't watching the game."
It didn't look like Emmet was listening anymore though. His face had lit up and if he had a tail it would have been wagging. Logan followed his gaze and swallowed a groan, why(1) did she have to be here now of all times?
This time though they didn't seem to be the focus of her attention. She was backing towards them with an aggressive stance.
"I'm not going to go back and no one- especially not you(1)- is going to drag me back. Did you ever wonder where Caairn ended up?" The cinnamon tone of her voice had fallen into a venomous snarl and Logan found himself releasing Emmet's lapels to get a closer look at just who could get the sweetly-masked girl to drop her façade.
"You fool, Caairn is alive. And I will bring you back if it's the last thing I do." Logan stared.
The speaker had short shorts, a long large hoodie and the smallest bit of blonde hair falling out of her hood.
It was the girl from the graveyard.
