For decades now musicians have been singing about peace, doing their bit to bring about change and peace, crying out against war.
Are we actually listening to the words of their songs or is there never going to be some form of world peace, or do most people just say that the words are the rumblings of drunks or addicts whose only function is to entertain the young and equally drunk or high people.
That would be strange would it not, to think that the people who are "addicts or drunks" seem to be on the right path re the peace issue and the people who are ruling the countries seem to be quite happy to send their men and women to war.
It makes one kind of want to rush out and secretly get hold of whatever it is they are on, so we too would see things from the peaceful side.
If one looks at the world today, it is sad to see that man has apparently gone completely insane. Almost everywhere we look, countries are at war, if not the countries then we have private wars between individuals.
The end result is the same, death and destruction at every turn. Why is man hell bent on destroying each other.
We have starving children, mothers, fathers and grandparents who are caught in the middle of all this madness. If I think about it, I am pretty sure that these people did not volunteer for the bloody war, but here they are, slap bang in the middle of it, starving to death. It's like if the bullets, pangas, clubs, traditional weapons and whatever else of the dangerous variety don't get them, then the starvation sure as hell will.
Lets all stop to imagine what it must be like for a mother to try and breast feed her baby knowing that there is nothing there to save her baby in the first place, but by offering her baby the breast, she is offering some form of comfort.
Now lets imagine being the baby and you desperately need food and you get this breast but the is nothing there, you are just not getting nourished. All of this because of war.
Imagine watching your precious baby dying slowly before your very eyes and you are powerless to stop it.
In the words of John Lennon who sang this song many years ago,
"Give Peace A Chance" what the hell have we got to loose, nothing but a lot to gain.
Leaders of the nations, listen to your people and Stop the War.
