CAFE LOVE

CHAPTER 7
When I called to the guests that lunch was ready, everyone was in the kitchen immediately.
"Help yourself." I said but they already had. I reached out my hand to get a plate but Peter, my dads friend, was also going for the same plate. He saw my ring. I laughed, nervously.
"Nice ring, Corrine," he asked "Is it new?"

"Um yeah. Max gave it to me," I blushed "As a engagement gift." I thought that I was only talking to Peter but I soon realised that everyone had stopped their own conversation and was now listening to mine. I blushed, again.
"Why didn't you tell us?" My friend Julie asked

"When did it happen?" dad asked. Everyone suddenly started to ask questions without giving us a chance to answer them.
They stopped when Max said "Hey!" this startled everyone including me "Your asking questions we can't even answer. Shouldn't you be happy for Corrine?" everyone nodded and apologized.
"I can help you look for dresses Corrine?" Julie volunteered. I smiled in agreement.
"I'll help with that too and I will help with the cake!" said Vicky. As she had done my amazing birthday cake I agreed to that too.
We carried on with lunch and I chatted to Vicky and Julie about the dress. We decided to go shopping tomorrow, Friday. As none of us were working.

Friday came and at 9 o'clock I drove round to Julie's and Vicky's house to pick them up. We arrived at the mall at 10. We parked and went round the shops searching for a wedding dress shop. We soon found it and walked inside.
"Hello," said a friendly woman behind the counter "Do you need some help?"

"No, no thank you!" I smiled

"If you do just call me." she said. I saw her name tag, Megan. I nodded and we all started to look round. We grabbed every dress that I liked and I went to try them one, we soon narrowed them down to three dresses. The first one was a strapless white dress with a blue waistline which went big at the back but narrowed down at the front. The second one was a white halter neck dress with sequins and a lace up back. And finally the third one was a white, off the shoulder dress that went in at the waist and then gently went out with ruffles. The woman that was behind the counter walked past us and stopped by me while I was dressed in the third dress
"That also comes with gloves that go up to your elbows."

"Thank you!" I replied "How am I meant to decide which one?"

"How about we rate them out of ten?" Julie suggested

"Yea but if I like them all it will be ten, ten, ten." I said, sighing. After ages of thinking we all decided to get rid of the first choice of dress. Now which one?
"Let's all vote?" I said

"It's your wedding though, not ours." said Vicky

"Please, for me," I pleaded looking at her with puppy eyes " I would really appreciate it." they both sighed. Vicky voted for the third choice and so did Julie. Now my turn. I eventually chose the third choice as well. I went back and got changed into my regular clothes. We then walked over to Megan.
"Hello have you decided?" she asked
"Yes eventually!" I laughed. She took the dress and did something on the computer she handed it back to me and said "That's £375." Megan stated. I gave her the money
"Thank," I smiled "Do you know a place here that does wedding shoes?"
Megan thought and then said "There is a place down the street and round to the right."

"Thank you!" I replied. We waved good bye as we walked out the door and went up the lane just as Megan had said to.
"It's a beautiful dress, don't you think?" indicated Vicky. We all agreed.
We found the shoe shop and found a pair of shoes quite easily. They were purple low heel shoes with an open bit at the toes. Perfect!
