Hi! I'm sorry about the wait, I started secondary school this week and I've been a bit busy, but anyway, enjoy!
Chapter 11
First Date
I ran all the way home, so I had more time to get ready.
"Hi mum. I'm going to the park near Amber's house tonight, then going to her house for tea. I'll be back around 9:00," I lied, still panting.
"Ok sweetie," my mum said, her back turned, washing the pots.
I raced upstairs, (well....I tripped...) and flung the door to my room open. I went straight to my wardrobe, to try and find something to wear tonight. As we were going out for a meal, I guessed I needed to wear something quite formal. I chose a plain, black dress-knee length, and put some tights on with it. I growled, frustrated, as I made a huge hole in my tights from the hurry. I found a new pair and this time, carefully put them on. I grabbed a creme, thin belt and put that round my waist. After brushing my hair and brushing my teeth again, I took ยฃ20 out of my penguin money bank, and skipped downstairs.
"Bye mum!" I called, as I was walking out the door, I shut the door before my mum had time to answer.
"Scarlett!" Leon beamed, just as I had turned the corner.
"Hi," I replied.
Leon looked at me and smiled.
"You look beautiful!" he grinned.
"Thanks...but don't push your luck, this isn't a date," I reminded him.
He nodded, but smirked. Apparently, everyone else thought differently to me.
"I'm serious!" I snapped.
"If you say so..." Leon laughed.
I elbowed him in the ribs, hoping he would shut up...but of course that didn't work.
"Now, now, little Scarlett, don't get angwy!" Leon said, in a baby voice.
I glared at him, but had to turn away, or he would see me smiling. About 20 minutes later, after catching a bus to the cinema, we were sat in the comfortable seats, ready for the movie to start. Leon put his arm round the back of my seat.
"Keep your hands to yourself," I said shortly, still looking at the screen.
He sighed heavily, but put both of his hands on his knees. I watched the rest of the movie, with no disturbances and was happy to find that Leon still had both of his hands on his lap.
"Now for dinner!" Leon smiled, when everyone was beginning to leave the cinema.
I nodded and stood up, my legs felt strange from sitting still for so long.
"Where should we go?" I asked.
"There is a restaurant just down the street from here. We could go there?" Leon suggested.
"Sure, sure," I agreed.
As we strolled out the cinema, I began to wonder what kind of questions I would be asked tonight, hopefully not too many...
