Chapter 6
Traitor
As soon as I reached Lily's house, I frantically knocked on the door and shouted her name. I heard the tapping of feet and seconds later, a miserable looking Lily appeared at the door. She looked terrible. She was very pale, had dark shadows under her eyes, and was holding her hand to her head.
"You look terrible!" I muttered, giving her a hug.
"I know, I know...but lets go upstairs, I need to show you something," Lily sighed.
With apprehension, I followed her upstairs and watched her switch on her computer. Oh no, she was going to show me another email from Paige, I didn't realise Paige disliked me this much.
"I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't show you this, but I just thought..." Lily let her sentence trail off.
The email read:

Leon,
I honestly don't see why you like Scarlett so much. She is ugly and not particularly clever. I am so much prettier and smarter than her and everyone knows it, apart form you. Tell me when you see sense and choose me.
Paige x

I felt like I had been stabbed in my heart, Paige clearly hated me. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I re-read the email twice, hardly believing what I was seeing. Paige wasn't my friend anymore, I wouldn't speak to her ever again.
"I'm sorry....there is a reply?" Lily whispered.
I nodded as she clicked on something else.

Paige,
Sorry, I don't like you in that way. I can't believe you said those things about your friend. She is nothing like what you described. I dislike you even more now you've written that.
Leon.

My heart thudded inside me, I could've sworn Lily heard it, she looked at me uncertainly. Tears continued to cascade down my cheeks, I side glanced at Lily to see her expression. She look like she wanted to say something, but didn't want to offend me. I frowned at her, she saw my expression and sighed.
"You know Scarlett, Leon isn't that bad. You should, you know...give him a chance," Lily said quietly.
I pursed me lips and considered this, his reply had been truly flattering.
"I-I, it's complicated," I sighed.
"How?" Lily questioned, frowning.
"I know Amber and Paige like him , and I don't want to upset them. Well, it doesn't matter about Paige anymore, but Amber..." I whispered, and tears pierced my eyes again.
"Hmm..." Lily and I sat I thought for a while.
"I need to go," I muttered.
Lily led me out the door, and waved goodbye as I walked up the path. As soon as she was out of sight, I burst into tears again. I was heart-broken, what did I ever do to Paige? I grimaced as I thought her name, she was...just evil.
After crying myself to sleep that night, I awoke at 6:15am, I really didn't want to go to school today...
