Maia switched off the tv and bounced upstairs. Her parents had gone out, so she was home alone. Most of the lights were on upstairs, her bed room light was not on. Maia went to walk in when she heard quiet breathing the door. She didn't walk in, she didn't turn the light on. But she had to make the intruder think she hadn't noticed him. She quickly grabbed the cardigan hanging on the bed post and rushed downstairs.
Maia turned the tv on, and put on 5 volume. Then she could hear if the intruder came downstairs. Suddenly Maia heard her cat start meowing. But the cat was on the sofa next to her, what could she be meowing at?
Maia put the tv on mute and then heard the breathing again, felt the breath on her neck.
With a blood curling scream, Maia was murdered that night.
So the moral of the story is: always check behind you.....
