Tanglelocks

Goldilocks has never existed,
Just one of Anderson's many listed,
The girl behind the tale's true,
Though differences? There are a few...

There was a girl named Tanglelocks,
Daughter of a man who dabbled with clocks,
Notorious thief and B&E child,
Often renowned for being wild...

Living up to her name, her hair ran free,
Matted from swimming and climbing trees.
Her hair wasn't blonde but a dull, dull brown,
The ugliest hair in her whole town.

One day, whilst playing, the girl got bored,
Sick of her father and being ignored;
So she moved to the woods, where she was banned,
And walked until she could barely stand.

Tanglelocks needed food and drink,
And seeing a cottage pushed her over the brink,
Feeling no resent, but diabolical glee,
Tanglelocks moved into the house's melee...

Inside was cosy, but she didn't care,
She wanted the house, and to rest her hair...
The tangled locks were a weight down her back,
Nothing couldn't be fixed by a quick snack.

It was a poorly stocked place to the girl's dismay,
And to punish its owners she set about disarray.
She ripped all the pillows and tore up the chairs,
Little did she know, the family were bears.

She took out the porridge - the only food there,
And poured the stuff EVERYWHERE.
But this wasn't enough, oh heck did she stop?
To ensure it was messy she snapped broom and mop!

The clock struck the hour and Tanglelocks fell,
She was tired and exerted, and felt like hell.
So onto the carpet in a trance she did fall,
Not conscious of the footsteps moving into the hall.

When our girl awoke, her limbs were all bound,
Her mouth gagged tightly - she could make not a sound.
She lay in the centre of the stony basement,
Head and feet resting on cold, cold cement.

She found herself looking into deep amber eyes,
Were her mouth open, she'd have squeaked in surprise.
As it was she stayed silent, lucky for her,
For the bears looked so angry and let out a 'grrr'.

I will not continue, but suffice it to say,
Things did not go dear Tanglelocks' way...
She stayed as a servant to all seven bears,
To be honest, she could've been much worse for wares...
