*This poem is dedicated to anyone who has ever been made to feel like they are nothing. I know how it feels, unfortunately.*
I tried to be the best I could,
And when I failed: 'I knew you would'.
You'd taunt and tease and push me down,
And when I rose you'd sternly frown:
'Get back down where you belong,
You're not right you're with the wrong.'
Well, I don't like to be down low,
And I have tricks I wish to show.
I'd like to shove it in your face,
And see you in your rightful place.
Not everyone is less than you,
Open those eyes, you'll see it's true.
Don't try and make me feel like dirt,
My bones are thick; I will not hurt.
