Customary Judgement

Just stop one second.
Take the time to look and hear
Before you apply your usual,
Customary judgement
Just what exactly do you fear?
Is it the inexplicable?
Truly terrifying as it may be

I know I should apologise
for being uniquely gifted
With a sort of X-ray vision
After all, I see through your disguise
Through your pleasant enough smile
You have already passed a sentence.

So it's me. I am the source.
You don't know enough about the world
To fight the constraints of stereotypes,
So you reason to let nature run its course
I'm not what you think,
You'll understand one day.
