I think my heart is made
From pieces of a fallen star,
It burns my lungs,
Cracks my rib cage,
But insists on glowing,
Shining, anyway,
Filling my veins with
Love, lust and
A sprinkling of
Multicoloured stardust.
I made a wish upon it
And it came half-true,
I wished on my heart,
On a star,
That you would
Love me too.
Well look at that,
It seems your heart
Is made of
A shooting star;
I knew there was
Something different,
Radiant, about you.
Together we will
Make a new
Constellation;
Star-crossed lovers,
And outshine
The rest,
For there are
No others
With fragments
Of a bright-hot star
In the place
Of a beating heart.
