Under trees
Patched shadow
And sunlight
Gentle sway of leaves
Through fields
The river cuts
Its curving endless course
Follow meanders
Watch the weir
Throw the water
Into arcs
White foam
Current quickens
Carries leaves, sticks
And our hopes
Dreams
With it.
Walk on
Talking, laughing
Smiling under
Vintage Ray-Bans
Hills on the horizon
Lie in the grass
Fresh, lush
Damp beneath
Bare feet
This day
Couldn't be
More perfect.
