May I Have This Dance?

I asked you to dance,
Not knowing what the night would hold,
When I'm with you I feel empowered,
Who knew I could be so bold?

My whole night would mean nothing,
No chance of a repeat,
You smile shyly back at me and say "Okay,"
My heart, it skips a beat.

We waltz, together, to the dance floor,
Our bodies, they entwine,
How I long for the day when I look at you,
And say to myself "she's mine."

Our eyes meet, our faces close,
We feel the connection, the love,
I lean in and we embrace gently,
As fireworks explode above.

A perfect evening, with the perfect person,
I can't wipe the smile off my face,
As I walk you home, a kiss on the cheek,
I know I've found my place.
