Slices of pure silver, sparkle,
Against the canvas of midnight blue.
Kind eyes twinkling,
Igniting wishes for me and you.
When darkness engulfs the world,
Only then do they let their light shine
Guiding us through the unknown,
Their warmth spreading into your heart and mine.
That first raw, cold night
A blanket of thousands stretched across the sky.
Thousands of wishes and hopes for 'us'
Beneath then we naΓ―vely did lie.
They're still up there, watching,
Even after all these years.
We still look at them for comfort,
And wipe away life's tears.
