As of this moment, we have not reached our destination, but we should be there shortly. Both Jennifer and Steven are asleep, and I'm staring at the night sky out of the windshield.
I slept for the first time in days, but I did not sleep long. Jennifer got up numerous times last night screaming at the top of her lungs. She said that she was having nightmares, but I had concerns that it could be the infection going through her brain. Dan reassured me though that Jennifer was not in fear of being infected, but hearing my daughter tormented by those demons made we weak. I tried to contact Janet one more time. No response again...
I chat with Dan throughout the day, and he gave me very interesting information. The gas, as I expected, was what infected the people. They believe that it was an unstable radioactive virus. They still didn't know how it had spread, but they have no doubt that it had infected the world.
Another interesting fact was that since it was unstable, zombies were basically time bombs ready to die. This explained the woman zombie at the house. Since we lives in an elderly area, most of the zombies died in those two days. The only thing though is that younger zombies are less prone to this, and are basically stronger versions of humans.
Their bodies have the ability to consume flesh to replace the decaying parts. The most valuable are flesh of the youth, since the flesh was still growing. This explains why the young zombie left me for Jennifer.
My sweet Jennifer. Even after going through so much pain and uncertainty as she did, she still could be seen with a smile here and there. She regained her confidence in me (of the beauty of youth), and her presence lit the spirits of the people around us. I did not socialize with anyone besides Dan and my children, but I reckon I will be more conferable at the tower.
Today went by quick, but I remember talking to Steven about a TV show called The Walking Dead. He said it was also based on events after an apocalypse, and that it was one of the most popular shows around. The irony was so amazing!
We should arrive at the tower later tonight. there I hope to get an idea of what was really going on. I know now that eventually all the zombies will die out, but we had to survive. Mankind had to survive, or we will be forgotten. Such a pleasant idea to think about on Christmas.
