Cerebrum Chapter I

Loosely based on the fourth men from "Last and First men"

"Jon Terr has entered Cerebrum 07. Cleansing."
The steam washed over Jon as he held his breath for the ten seconds necessary to remove every harmful virus or bacterium from his person. It was the correct thing to do, of course. You wouldn't want one of the planets major life forms to fall ill for days on your behalf. It could destabilise your country's economy or worse. Jon got out of the cleansing chamber and walked across the metal floor to the behemoth in front of him, suspended limply from a steel band around its forehead. The majority of this creatures features were the same as of humans, same limbs, same torso same facial features, but what was extraordinary was the entire head up from the tip of the eyebrows was over ten feet in diameter. This truly was a superbrain. The most daring feat of genetic engineering was to create life that could think for us. The very summit to our desire to make machines to do things for us. And here was Jon, just a man about to perform what must have been an experiment that provided the world of science with almost no benefit, but the commercial universe with a dazzling new product. But to explain how, we shall have to travel back a few years, to Jon at 26, on his mothers deathbed, a woman who first stirred his interest in science, as she relays her last message to him.

Wahey, new attempt at sci fi! I read quite a lot of sci fi so I should be fine...I hope ;P
