Welcome back to your old home,
For you were missed, we were alone,
Remember me? I was your brother,
That's your Papa and your mother.
Welcome back, this is your bed,
The same one where you'd rest your head,
I'm all grown up now, you are, too,
"What can?" you say? What can't we do?
Here is the wall you use to climb,
I'd help you up, we'd pass the time,
I'd catch you every time you fell,
You'd cheer me up, I'd keep you well.
These are all the things that I'd say,
If you came back to us today,
Maybe all of the docs were wrong,
And you were living all along.
Of course, I dream that I could tell,
Of all the times I knew you well,
But I did not know you, you see,
My baby sister, Emily.
You passed away before your time,
And very much preluding mine,
But, I still see your spirit here,
And know, forever home, you're near.
