Insomniac

Poison running through my veins,
Boiled blood sings sweet with pain,
Toxic light drives me insane,
Oxygen begins to wane,
Melting metal- sleep eluded,
Sparks of ice- my thoughts, deluded,
Dark night's sanction- long precluded,
Sleepless dreams- black tears, exuded,
Tainted, endless, sleepless night,
Ever waiting for the light,
Distant oceans drift in sight,
Glinting silver, grey and white,
Time turns slowly on the clock,
Lost, the key to fit the lock,
Half shade shadows seem to mock,
Scarlet ravens shield the flock.
