Nothingness

Pale lips and ghostly touch,
A light without heat in the dead of the night,
A gentle gaze frosted over by the days spent,
Bringing life to the dying and love to the spite.

You are nothingness, somber in youth, all too wise,
Ever seeking to humble than to compromise,
Wanting nothing from others and naught for your own,
And they say when they see you, it chills to the bone.

You are nothing but embers and fire and ice,
When you speak, save a word is enough to suffice,
When you wander, the shadows, they weave you a cloak,
Out of ashes and petals and crystal and smoke.
