Pre-conceived Notions

I Guess We All Do It...

If I said I was a Fireman,
You'd see me, bold and brave.
A whizz with the ladies too,
Sometimes I misbehave...

If I told you I'm an Actress,
What would you think of me?
A thespian? A kooky chick?
What type of person would I be?

And how about a Secretary?
Heels and skirt suit heaven?
Would I run around for all and sundry,
Biscuits and tea at 11??

Is that all I am?
Is there more to me.....?

Well, what about a Builder?
What would you think of that?
"Talking of tea... You makin' some?
Yeah, I'll 'ave summa-that!"

Or if I were an Architect,
Would I be such a toff?
My skyscrapers and scary buildings,
Would that piss you off?!

Or how about a Nurse in an old people's home...?
You think I clean those bedpans out with smiles and ne'er a moan?

We are all just people,
Angry, Happy, Funny, Big, Little...
Every one is different,
No matter what the title.

So, no matter how hard it seems,
When you see a 'Status Tag'
Just remember to be kind,
Keep your mind open, just a tad.
