She allowed herself to be around the most toxic of people
Afraid to stand up for herself, afraid of hurt she'd cause by leaving
She does everything she can to keep others content
Most of the time it's at her own expense
When people realise that it's easy to take advantage
She's seen it time and time again, they take and take for granted
Every little thing they want, every little whim
Just give her a call, she'll do it all, stupid little girl
The thing they don't know about this girl
Is that she sees through all they do
She might seem like a pushover
But her heart and mind are true
She's full of moral fibre
She'll treat them just as well
As if they had respect for her
She won't lower to their level
Her mind is sharp and kind
She's young with an aged wisdom
She knows the reasons behind their actions
Though they can't see past their venom
Conscious thought is what she teaches
Although no one will listen
And so they're stuck inside their own self-built cynical prison
She doesn't mind what they do
Or say or feel or think
If they'd just leave her alone to live her life as she sees fit
She's too caring to leave
She couldn't bear to hurt them
So she trapped herself reluctantly
In their prison made of venom
She wishes she had courage
To move away from hurt
This girl could shine at anything
If only she could see her worth
