One day before 12th grade started and I'm barley prepared. None of my supplies are sorted out, I have no idea what I'm going to wear. As panic ran throughout my body I hear my dad call me downstairs. "someone is here for you." Who would be here for me? I wasn't the "coolest" girl at Ember High School, but I wasn't an outcast. The only person I can think about is my friend Jessica but she would've called first. When I reached my front door my dad returned to his office and alone stood in the doorway was Charlie. He was probably the most good looking guy in this whole town. Tall, blond hair, brown eyes and a perfect body. But why would he hangout with me? We've been best friends since 1st grade. But we stopped talking to each other around 9th grade. Only a wave or smile.
"Hey, Charlie." my voice cracked. Not attractive.
"Hey Em, can we go for a walk?" he didn't smile, or frown.
"Yeah, one sec." I turned around slowly. I went over to my dad's office, called over telling him I'll be right back. I grabbed my white sweater and threw it over my head as I headed out the door by Chalie's side. We walked down my block without saying a word. 5 o'clock at night and twilight is settling in. I realize that I should've changed into pants before coming out. "So, why did you bring me out here?"
"Well," he began then he through his hand out in front of me, blocking me from crossing. The words Hey almost flew out of my mouth. But a second later a car came down the street going at least 60 on a 15. He saved me. "Sorry" his voice was shaking. "Is everything okay?"
