~ I don't know what to call this story, so at the moment it's going to be called 'Delicate'. If anyone reading this has any other title ideas please comment them they would be very much appreciated. Enjoy!~
I took the sharp spear in my mouth and started climbing the tree. My left hand reached up and grabbed onto the nearest branch. My other hand and both feet soon followed, until I was perched on a very high, large branch. When I began to hear footsteps I steadied myself and took hold of the spear ready for defence. The first figure I saw, I immediately threw the spear hitting him in the chest. Another one that was with him saw where I was and began climbing up the tree like a monkey. I grabbed my penknife, and stabbed one of the blades into his right arm. He made a groan but snatched the blade out of his arm and let go, making it fall to the ground. When I saw this happen I jumped off the tree, without looking. I landed on my feet but ended up falling backwards and knocking my head against the ground. My sight was juggled but soon after it regained focus, I felt firm, tight arms around me.
Two wooden oak doors opened in front of me, leading into a very large hall, decorated with silver chandeliers and white stone walls. The stain glass windows projected different shades of red onto the pink coloured marble floor. A crimson carpet lay in the middle splitting the room through the centre. My eyes followed the carpet until it ended at the bottom of three grey steps. My eyes continued up the steps and a tall golden throne stood emptily in the sunlight, just like it had when I was last here. I had been to this place many times and now know the haunting surprises and tormenting events that await any unfortunate visitor.
With a sharp click, a women with dark black hair that fell over her shoulders, appeared sitting on the throne as if she had always been there. She had pale flawless skin, copper gold eyes and blood red lips. She wore a crimson dress with jewels on the straps.
"Ah," she smiled, but not in the nice way "It's so nice of you to finally choose to join us, Lilia."
She stood up and walked gracefully down the steps.
I took a step forward but the guard behind stopped me from going any further.
"You know I would never choose this, Rosetta." I snapped glaring into her eyes.
She was at my side in an instant. Her breath felt warm on my neck but her voice was like nails on a chalk board.
"Now, now," she whispered hastily into my ear "I'm queen, remember? And I can do as I want when I want, you just make sure you don't forget that."
Rosetta moved away and looked deep into my eyes. I blinked sharply, making her jump.
"Your Majesty," I sniggered "I know all your little magic tricks, there's no point trying them on me."
"Really?" Rosetta laughed and in a click of her fingers everything around me disappeared and I was suddenly in a different room. The room was dark and it took a while before my eyes adjusted to the shapes and shadows of the room I was now imprisoned in. I noticed a small crack of light coming from the left of me. I walked slowly over to it being cautious to whether it was Rosetta luring me into a trick or it was actually sunlight coming in through a crack in the wall. To my relief it was actual sunlight, I sat down with my back against the wall and began thinking of how everything had ended up like this.
Ever since Queen Rosetta had become in charge of England everything has turned upside down. She wants every person aged over eighteen to be executed and all the children to work for her. My parents and two older brothers were killed by her evil ways. The only thing I could do was run away so Rosetta's guards wouldn't catch me. I didn't exactly have a plan of where I wanted to go, but I soon found the woods and spent a year alone in there. I made spears and a bow and arrow to help me hunt for food, but the guards soon found out what I was doing and where I was hiding. They caught me every time I stepped out of the woods, I managed to escape at least three times but this final time they had more guards. Some where in the woods surrounding me some were out of the woods and they surround every possible exit or quick escape I could make.
